Joanna Nemis-White, BSc, PMP
Principal & Founder
Joanna has worked collaboratively in the healthcare industry across Canada since 1990. For the past 20 years, she has developed and supported continuous quality improvement partnership projects aimed at enhancing patient care and outcomes, with numerous and diverse healthcare stakeholders in both the public, non-profit and private sectors. Her recent focus has been supporting and collaborating with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness and private-sector clients.
As a leader in project and quality improvement, Joanna holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. With 27 years of healthcare experience, Joanna possess not only PMBoK ‘theoretical knowledge’, but practical real-world expertise, including understanding the challenges of ‘project sustainability’. Joanna is certified in change management in accordance with Prosci® methodologies and tools; having extensive practical experience supporting stakeholders during the change processes. Additionally, she has completed the HITS (Health Informatics Training System), Level 1 Education Course and is a current member of the Nova Scotia PMI Chapter and the Canadian Evaluation Society.
Nicole MacPherson, PDt
Nicole has held positions in service and administration, with experience in client and peer relations, schedule creation, data entry and database management. Her strengths are in communication, organization, and research. As a research associate with Strive Health, Nicole has practical experience with document and literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative research, data entry, data analysis, transcription and report writing.
Nicole is a professional dietitian. She holds a BA in Psychology and a BSc in Applied Human Nutrition.

Terrence Montague, CM, CD, MD
CareNet Health Management Consulting
Formerly Professor of Medicine at the Universities of Alberta and Montreal and Vice-President of Merck Frosst Canada, Terry founded the Clinical Quality Improvement Network, the partnership / measurement template for subsequent benchmark disease management projects like ICONS (Improving Cardiovascular Outcomes in Nova Scotia) and TEAM (Towards Excellence in Asthma Management).
Terry is the author of “Patients First: Closing the Health Care Gap in Canada” and “Patient Health Management for Dummies”. He provides consulting and educational services (strategic and tactical planning, knowledge translation, writing, publishing, networking and communication) in the fields of disease management, team-based care and patient safety, with a vision to achieving the best health for the most people at the best cost. Terry has collaborated with Strive Health since inception and has been a colleague and mentor to Joanna for the past 20 years.
In 2016, Dr. Montague was appointed into the Order of Canada for his contributions to the management of cardiovascular disease and to the advancement of patient health management.
Jenn Dixon, MSc, CE
Jenn has over 10 years experience in the fields of research and evaluation. She holds a MSc in Population and Public Heath, a Professional Specialization Certificate in Population Health Data Analysis, a BSc in Health Promotion and BSc in Psychology. Jenn is a member of the Canadian Public Health Association, Canadian Evaluation Society and American Evaluation Association. In 2017, Jenn received the Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation.
Jenn has held evaluation and research positions with the Nova Scotia Government, Nova Scotia and British Columbia health authorities, post-secondary institutions and community non-profit organizations. She has experience in defining project methods, development of data collection tools and protocols, and conducting qualitative / quantitative analysis using SPSS, Excel and NVivo. Over the course of the past 10 years, Jenn has worked on a variety of evaluations and research projects that spanned from evaluating the impact of programs at the local community level, to provincially delivered initiatives, to nation-wide government initiatives. Jenn recently collaborated with Strive Health on an evaluation of a provincial mental health and addictions strategy for the province of Nova Scotia.
Jessica Seaward, BCom
Jessica is a creative-minded analyst who has the ability to understand concepts quickly and turn data into meaningful information for diverse audiences. She has over five years of analysis, reporting and project coordination experience in multiple industries and operating environments. Possessing skills in facilitation, problem solving and change management, Jessica is passionate about finding solutions through collaboration.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Commerce with a Concentration in Accounting, bringing a strong financial background to all of her projects.
York MacPherson, BET
York is a results oriented professional having worked in primarily industrial construction in varying degrees of project management responsibility. Instinctively curious, he has the ability to decompose high volumes of information into quantitative and qualitative requirements of what are important to project clients, stakeholders and leaders. York’s education includes a degree in Petroleum Engineering with training in Project Management methodologies. He is also a CFA Candidate. York has supported Strive Health with project scheduling, data analysis and interpretation.
Other collaborators include Custom Analytica (Patty Montague, MSc (Epid.) Principal), Move Live Learn LLC (Amanda Stanec, PhD) and a wide range of subject matter experts.
